The Center for Food Studies is pleased to receive as part of the Visiting Scholar’s Program Prof. Elisabete Figueiredoduring October 2024.

Prof. Figueiredo-is aRural Sociologist and Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences and Full Researcher at GOVCOPP – Research Unit in Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies, University of Aveiro, Portugal. She is particularly interested in developing research about the role of digital and social networks in the promotion of traditional food products related to Mediterranean diet. During her visit to AUR, she will focus on sharing research from several research projects about rural representations and tourism, traditional food paths from production to consumption, traditional food and tourism, food as cultural heritage and patrimony. She will be fully available to participate in AUR courses and other activities related to those topics, seminars, and conferences, mentor students interested in these matters, and cooperate with AUR researchers in conducting small projects while looking for joint research opportunities.
